Ramirez is soooo awful. He needs to be the last reliever out of the pen. That's 2 2-strike hits he's given up in this inning. Bullpen negligence by
Tito. Ballgame. Thanks for playing.

I would seriously love to hear an excuse for the bullpen management in this inning-or this game for that matter. He completely blew the 8th inning trying to
send his 4th starter to the ASG, and he assumes for some reason that RR will have a clean inning, meaning he fails to WARM SOMEONE UP IN THE BULLPEN, which is
completely inexcusable with RR on the mound, who has failed time after time.

This loss is 100% on Tito. Remember this and the abortion in Baltimore at the end of the year...

Is there anything more annoying than Don going into his homerun call when the ball doesn't have any chance of leaving the yard?
Congrats, George!

Would you guys look at Ramirez stats before bitching about him. Do you expect us to go 162-0? While, I agree that I didn't think Wakefield should have pitched the 8th. The move to Ramirez made absolute sense. He hadn't given up a run in his last 6 appearances. Won the last game in Baltimore. Him and Bard were the only relievers who didn't cough it up in the 10-1 game. All of the guys you complained about that night, you want now. You can't have it both ways. Here's Ramirez stats before tonight. 36IP 23 H 9ER 14 BB 23K 5-2 2.25 ERA What is so pitiful about that line? |

Ramirez is a good reliever, but he's in one of those stretches that relievers go through where he just can't seem to find the plate (or part of the
plate he wants to hit) on a consistent basis. I'm fine with him being one of the top 3 or 4 pitchers out of the bullpen, but there should've been
someone warming up behind him.
My biggest beef with tito...besides Wake inexplicably being left in to start the 8th...is that he took Delcarmen out after only an inning (Papelbon too, but that's at least understandable). There was absolutely no reason for that.

Yes greg that is quite understandable, Delcarmen had a very easy inning and he also didn't throw that many pitches. I really don't understand how you
can blame Tito for any of this. He has the best bullpen in the majors (ramirez included) and he has had to go to them a lot lately due to a rain delay and a
rough start or two by a starter. Therefore, I can imagine that is partially why Wake went back in for the 8th. Wakefield also was right around 100 pitches for
the night and we all know he can go past that. I'd take Ramirez anyday. Look at his numbers the past year and a half. You know what they say, numbers
don't lie.

A 23/14 K/BB out of a reliever in 36 innings is pretty subpar. Ramirez is not even remotely the same pitcher he was last year.

Ramirez is clearly our worst option out of the bullpen right now. This should be obvious to everyone.

I'm with everyone else about the bonehead bullpen usage. I leave for New Zealand tomorrow and that mess was the last game I'll be able to watch from
the comfort of my own home for the rest of the season? Thanks a lot, Tito. Thanks a lot.

FenwayTheHardWay wrote: You'll have to forgive my ignorance as I have barely had any time to watch a game all the way through lately, but is this really true? I saw him pitch against Baltimore the other day and he seemed fine. This time he was not so fine of course, but I remember him being near-lights out in April and May. I guess I'm going to have to watch more games, see what's wrong with him now. |

He's had real issues finding the strike zone lately.

I'm think he's hurt when I saw him against the Phillies for that blown save his heater had no life and had lost a couple mph, and his delivery got
messy, but that MAY ahve been when he was flustered after the H?oward bomb, but he didn't look right and anything like the same pitcher he was to start the
season.
I'd also think about Cabrera over Jones myself |
