Won't happen. This will be a bullpen game. He warmed up yesterday and pitched. Granted it was not much but he is not going to do the same today just to finish a game. It is a risk to do something like that. My guess is that Blake Maxwell or Chris Province starts this game and Arnie will go from there with the pen.

Portland reliever restedness:

Rhoades - four days rest after throwing 2.1 innings
Maxwell - three days rest after throwing 4.0 innings
Dobies & Province - two days rest after throwing 3.0 innings
Cox & Large - two days rest after throwing 2.0 innings
Richardson - one day of rest after throwing 2.0 innings

I'd say Maxwell starts with Rhoades first out of the 'pen.

There are 15 innings to fill today (8 in first game, 7 in second). Could do this.

Maxwell - 4
Rhoades - 3
Dobies - 2
Province - 2
Cox - 2
Large - 2

Better off getting someone from Lowell (Tommy Hottovy?) to pitch in, so the entire bullpen isn't spent. They have a doubleheader on Wed. also.

FYI, Maxwell is starting the re-started game 1. I'd paper move him to Lowell between games and call up Hottovy.

EDIT: I have to assume that Tazawa will reappear this week at some point.

Amfox, I think a Hottovy call-up may be coming - he should have pitched in Lowell yesterday (been throwing every third day) but did not.

FYI, I just noticed that Olsen will start for the Nationals tonight against the Marlins. Martis was sent down to Syracuse; the article didn't directly say he'd be making tonight's start in AAA, however:

...the Nationals activated left-hander Scott Olsen from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-hander Shairon Martis to Triple-A Syracuse.
Olsen will pitch against his former team, the Marlins, on Monday night at Dolphin Stadium.

Not going to lie, but this is about the 3rd or 4th post you've made in which I can't tell what you're actually asking. Please try to re-read your posts and see if there are things in there like "will he get pushed back to the the postponed game today?" that don't make sense before you post them. We're happy to answer questions, but just need to know what you're actually saying to do so.

At any rate, the GCL Sox haven't even been through the rotation once yet - they've only played three games. Will be interesting to see how they play this.
