As I've nominated myself to run the bandwagon, I welcome everyone to Drew Hedman day. Of course, I'm not sure he's going to play as McGuinness is there and Westmoreland may be DH'ing.

Count me in. Since he went to the 5-C, which is where my fiancee went to college, there's no way I can't root for this kid. In fact, I'll shortly be contractually bound to his bandwagon.

It's exciting to see Westmoreland is finally in action. I hope he gets off to a great start! It's a shame the Spinners don't come to Auburn this year I was hoping to catch them there.

Welcome to all the relatively new posters and don't be affraid to post opinions and observations (the barks are worse than the bites in the gameday threads). Seems as if Lowell has drawn out a lot of people to SoxProspects.

EDIT: Only 1 rule, no consecutive posts. We all adhere strickly to that.

Question for those in the know (pronounced AB), I've noticed that Gibson is at 2B and is listed as such on the Lowell roster.

From his profile:

Elite defensive player, he should excel at both shortstop and second base. Great range and footwork. Accurate arm with average strength. The one quibble with his defense might be his throwing mechanics, which are somewhat herky-jerky, but he still makes strong, quick throws. All in all, the game seems to come easy to Gibson - he has a nice fluidity in the field and a quick-twitch response in all aspects of the game.

I realize that Navarro is there right now and might be swapped for Kelly when the time is right. My question is if the 2B assignment is viewed as circumstantial or is viewed as likely permanent.

I'm pumped for several of the players on the roster but, I'm prepared for a long wait until fruition for the position players. As Teddy Ballgame said, hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports. (I translate that to mean if at first you don't suck seed, keep on sucking until you do suck seed).
