We tried to start a tradition of spitting and then stomping on a Volunteer cap on Casey Kelly Day. We found that no one wanted to pick up the cap after we were done. Too expensive to celebrate if we needed a new hat each time. We're back to the drawing board.

Yeah, I didn't realize he'd given up 8 runs in his last start. Was doing well before that.

I like KJ as a major league reliever, one that has the potential to go a couple innings and be very effective against lefties, but not necessarily a straight up LOOGY. I wouldn't mind seeing him go to the AFL this fall to get some work out of the pen if he's unable to excel as a starter in AAA. Here are some splits:

A shot by Ant over the right center wall CRUSHED -- Drive 1-0 after one.
Mailbox with a lead-off triple to right center bottom4th. Scores on a try at home after a week grounder to 3rd Drive 2-0 end of 4.
Bases loaded double 3/4 high off the green monsterby OT 4-0 - - -#46 chased off the mound with bag loaded again after walking Mailbox. Single up the middle by Tiger Death House 6-0 Drive at the end of 5.
Zerpa to start the 7th. Kelly done for the night. He was in control pitching mostly ahead of the batters. Only a few sharp hits.

asf, before you go jumping off a bridge, keep in mind that Reddick, Daeges, Wagner, Navarro, and Nava have all missed relatively significant time with injuries.

Two quick questions... Is Reid Engel going to be able to hit lefties well enough to be considered legit, or is he basically just a platoon player? And what does Jason Place need to do to be considered successful at this level in your opinions?
