He is the main reason I am a Red Sox fan today. My Dad grew up in that time and would write several of his idols and Dom wrote back and forth with him for a few years. My Dad would send him tie's for his birthday and Dom would continue to write letters and send autograph baseballs from the team and even Ted Williams. He would send pictures of him and teammates while he was wearing the tie's. He was a great Red Sox and I am sure I am not the only one with a story like this to share. To this day my Dad still has the letters in a scrap book and lives and dies with every game.
