I think the Heat's recent success is due in large part to their schedule. Of the final fifteen games on their schedule one had a winning record. So the fact that the Heat are finishing the season hot is because they arent playing quality teams. For the most part the Celtics match up well with the Heat. Rondo on Arroyo, Allen and Pierce can switch of on Wade, or put Allen on Q-Rich and Pierce on Wade, Perkins on Joel Anthony or Jermaine O'neal. The only match up I would be worried about is Beasley on Garnett. I dont think Garnett is nearly athletic enough to guard the youthful Beasley. I think Pierce is better suited to guard Beasley, so between Beasley and D-Wade I think Pierce will be busy and needs to be healthy.

KG would not have let those collapses happen in previous years, but he is no longer an elite player, therefore doesn't command the same amount of respect, especially with Rondo.

The telling stat that sums up my thoughts on them this season was the one they put up today showing that they have lost 13 games in which they had been leading by 10 or more points. They just get flat, and usually in the 4th quarter. A couple of years ago, they wouldn't have let those collapses happen, and that's why they are 48-28 right now instead of 56-20 or better.

The Celts just aren't good enough to win in the playoffs and likely will struggle to get out of the first round especially if they have to play the Miami Heat.

Was anyone else watching that game this afternoon? I don't know what to think. They only really won because LeBron couldn't hit threes and Ray Allen was on fire from beyond the arc. But it's also not really fair to say that LeBron wasn't on (he scored over 40 points) and Pierce was pretty quiet. Anybody else have any idea what this says about the team?

Honestly dude, I'm sorry, but it's not a matter of opinion if Finley is a better defender than Daniels. Daniels is one of the premier outside defenders in the NBA. Finley's only real defensive strengths come as that he is a guy who has been around the block and can recognize when he should switch and help. Again. Daniels is one of the better man on man defenders in the NBA. Daniels contains guys that would burn Finley man on man.

It's pretty much a fact that Daniels is a better defender than Finley.

Finley's not a better defender than Daniels or Allen at this stage of his career, and he's not a better player than Daniels or Robinson.

While it's never a bad thing to add a veteran - particularly one that can shoot - I don't really think Finley would make really any difference in the long run.

Finley is a better shooter and better defender. Doc said that shooting is something that you cannot get enough of, there's mutual interest between the two of them. If Pierce is going to be injured and Ray can't find his stroke and with House gone Finley is a guy I would want. A bench of Robinson, Daniels, Finley, Davis and Wallace plus T. Allen is a great bench. P.J. Brown came in during the 2008 season and provided great defense in short minutes and playing time, Finley could do the same in terms of shooting.
