I agree about it being Skinner's time to go (he's a solid coach, but one whose teams are generally limited in upside), but I really don't like the Donahue signing. Don't get me wrong, I love the way the guy's teams play but I just don't think it's a good fit for a power conference.

And really, if there's anyone involved in BC athletics that needs to go it's the AD.

I'm intrigued, and I think he fits pretty well given BC's difficult recruiting situation. At least he'll now have some scholarships to work with.

I think it was time for a change with Skinner, and hopefully the team will be more exciting. They need to rebrand themselves in order to get better attendence. It kind of sucks because they beat UNC or Duke almost every year and I think they have the 3rd best record in the ACC since joining, but there just wasn't a ton of interest in them from the casual fan unless they were a top 10 team.

I can't get a handle for Brown's team this year. Talking to the coach preseason, it sounded like they'd be pitching-and-defense. Then one of their aces, Mark Gormley (HS teammate of Alex Hassan btw) goes down with TJ surgery and their other ace, Will Weidig, shows that last year wasn't a "down year" but that he's apparently not living up to expectations. However, lineup winds up being stellar and they start playing to football scores. Crazy how that works.

By the way, love that our 1B's name is Dibiase. If I were still the SID, he's be coming to the plate to this:

Brown doubles Quinnipiac in baseball 12-6. QU sucks this season though. 3 wins is all they have this year.

That was a tough one - I was pulling pretty hard for you guys.

Future looks bright for Quinnipiac, though. Johnson and Rutty is a pretty solid core for next season, and I expect guys like Twyman, Cruz, the other Johnson, and Jackson to step up and fill the holes left by Baker and Feldine. Moore's already got a couple solid recruits coming in - a big and a really talented SG - so signing anyone else for next year would be gravy.

Enjoy the success for the next 2-3 years until UConn signs Moore away from QU.

You guys could have a really good coach there in Tom Moore.

Feldeine and Rutty is a damn good inside-outside combo for just about any league. That Johnson kid looks like he's gonna be an all-conference player at the point sometime down the road, too.

Quinnipiac wins the NEC regular season basketball title and is the #1 seed beginning Thursday in the conference tournament. A berth in the NIT is already guaranteed with finishing first. QU hockey opens the playoffs next weekend at home as the #7 seed vs. Dartmouth.

The thing is, college hockey always has a weekend where your team just puts up a dud. BC seems to do it every once in a while with Merrimack, which is a gut-wrencher. Even during their National Championship they started out 3-4-5 and finished the regular season that year with the following:

Yeah, he called a timeout after the second goal, and Wong scored pretty soon thereafter, so I'm pretty sure that's what he was doing then. However, skating 4v4, which was the situation for that goal, QPac had a pretty clear advantage. But once those two came out of the box, Brown regained control.

Not stiffs but I would have coach Pecknold curse them out for this loss. Last night not so much. Even though they blew a 4-3 lead Yale is a good team and they lost at their place.

Did PA at the game tonight. Brown really just beat them in all phases of the game. At no point was I worried, which was a first.

Got to love a weekend when you sweep Princeton and Quinnipiac.
