Welcome to Draft Day 2009 - in this thread discuss anything relevant to the draft - the Red Sox picks, other teams' picks, the television coverage.
However, if you find solid information on a player drafted by the Red Sox, it can be added to the Draft Day II Thread, which is
limited exclusively to player info (no discussion).

Draft Day is always a big day around here, and we anticipate having a record number of visitors. Draftee info will be continuously updated on the
Draft History...
Yeah, this article from his
hometown paper (Redding, CA) says that he had been told by the teams he talked to that he might go anywhere between rounds 10 and 30, so going in round 50
seemed a little surprising. That's the nature of the draft, I guess. I'm excited to see what he does and how DIII translates to the minors (I hope
well!).

I was thinking the same thing. Very impressive. I am interested to see how does. The Sox did get some power bats in this draft. Between Hedman, WIlkerson,
Jacobs, The Hammer and others. I hope to see Hedman in in Lowell

year...don't quote me on it. As a hitter, he pretty much crushes the ball every time up. He makes use of his size and strength and hits bombs. I don't

Jacobbi McDaniel has a big decision to make. The former Madison County star athlete was all ready to report to Florida State on June 20th, and he still plans

McDaniel was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers who selected him in the 33rd round today (1,006th overall).

The Rivals100 member has been leaning towards playing football and turning down the baseball contract, but he's not 100 percent sure what he will do yet.
That's because, according to McDaniel, the Brewers are paying him as if he were drafted on the first day. The FSU signee asked for 1.5 million but says

Draftee info will be continuously updated on the
Draft History Page and on the Blog as the day goes along.

A Draft Signings Thread will be opened later in the week.
