Myers (Cape Coral actually) on a family get-together and managed to persuade a couple of my relatives to go over to the minor league complex for the beginning of minor league spring training games (today, 17 March, it was Pawtucket and Portland against their Twins counterparts).  Scheduled start was 1 PM, but when we arrived at 1:15 they'd already reached the end of the third inning.  I'm assuming they started a bit early (or those were the shortest three innings ever played).

The primary aspect of the position would be to write the “Cup of Coffee” segment two-to-three days a week for the 2010 season (including the AFL).  Don Hyslop, who previously wrote the Cup-of-Coffee on a daily basis for the last five years, retired earlier this week.  Special thanks to Don for his five years of service!

This vote should not necessarily be about who you think the best prospects are, but rather who you think will have the best seasons in 2010.  Please note that: (1) each player will only be eligible at one position, so that any given  player does not split votes between two positions; (2) players expected to play a majority of the season at the MLB level are not eligible; and (3) several "shortstops" are projected to either move off position in 2010 or spend nearly equivalant time at other positions, thus we used our discretion in nominating those players at other positions.
